大学の時に コンサトのバンドに ユーフォニアム を えんそう しました。 私たち は 日本 に えんそう しました。 その の 時、 日本語 を わかりません でした。 「いい 天気 です、ね？」と いえました。 でも それだけ でした。三年前、また 日本 行きたい でした から、 日本語 ならって はじまります。 でも その 時 ぐらい、 ポリン を 会いました から、 まだ 行きません でした。 カナダ りょこう は 日本 りょこう ようり の ほう が いい です。
だから まだ 日本語 を べんきょう しています。

In college, I played euphonium in the concert band. We performed in Japan. At that time, I didn't understand Japanese. I could say "Nice Weather, eh?" but just that. Three years ago, I wanted to go to Japan again, so I started to learn Japanese. But around that time, I met Pauline, so I didn't go. Trips to Canada are better than trips to Japan*.
Thus, I'm still studying Japanese.
* Poor translation and I'm not even sure either version gets my point across (I'd rather...).
